This lesson i was finishing off sanding, filing and smoothing down any bits of wood i hadn't yet finished. i started by filing down all my rough edges so that the chair could fit into each other with a bit of room for the finish to be applied, once they were sanded and i was confident that my chair fit together well i went onto sanding down the edges so that it was more erganomically pleasinG. i smoothed down the seat so it curved round and curved off the arm rest so all the edges were smooth and no harm could be done on them.

This lesson, i realised how far i had to get in quite a limited time space. as i had already missed a few lessons before half-term i was slightly behind so needed to catch up. i worked fairly hard this lesson and got all my sections cut out that i needed using a coping saw. this leaves me only needing to file and sand down the rough edges left over from the sawing. in the end i think that i have managed my time effectively and should be finished by the designated time.

This lesson i finally got onto the practical side of starting to create my chair. firstly i asked one of the teachers to cut out my basic template with the band saw. this left all the trickier harder to cut bits left over. then i clamped up a piece of my side of chair and, using a coping saw cut out of my small sections, which i then had to adjust because myn were originally 6 mm but needed changing to 9 mm. then i cut out some sections of wood with the scroll saw and was just filing down the inside part of one of my pieces when we were asked to pack away. i think that i learned a lot this lesson and as i'm quite far behind (after missing a few lessons) i have now got quite an idea of time management and what i will have to do to to develop my chair in time.

This is my first lesson that I have started on the actual main chair and was basically planning. I basically got a sharp pencil, T-Square and ruler and with these implements i drew out my pieces required for the chair to work. i also used a set of compasses to draw out my curved top section but this was the only thing i did this lesson.
